Located behind the RSL, MEMO offers a diverse program of entertainment including, live music, theatre, filming and music ranging from classical recitals to down and dirty rock ‘n’ roll. MEMO is also in demand as a recording and rehearsal space due to the superior acoustics of this unique space.

MEMO has had a vibrant past since it opened in 1924 as a dance hall dedicated to raising revenue for distressed soldiers and their families. Following the rise in popularity of cinema, it went on to house The Memorial picture theatre from 1927 to 1958, when it became affectionately known as ‘The Memo’. BABBA can’t wait to see St Kilda’s Dancin’ Queens on the dance floor…BTN.1

George Ellis is one of Australia’s most admired conductors, composers and orchestrators working with Hans Zimmer, Lou Reed, The Church, Megan Washington and in many cities around the world with career highlights such as the Sydney Olympic opening ceremonies, arts and cultural festivals, opening nights, ARIA Awards, and sporting finals such as the NRL and Davis Cup. He will lead the 30-piece symphony orchestra with us as we pay loving tribute to ABBA, re-imagining all your favourite ABBA songs as you’ve never experienced them before!

The concert is a fully licensed event, with a choice of gourmet food available on site. BTN.1
